Giving Missouri some thought

Like it or not I am a lifer on the Missouri road (so far).  That is, like it or not from their point of view, not mine.

Missouri is a bit of a back road when looked at in the big scope of ancient and modern Christian history.  But those who appreciate confessional Lutheranism as a critical part of historic Christianity, believe it and its associated sister churches have an importance above and beyond their numbers.

Missouri Synod and I
In this day and age and in modern America, Lutheranism seems to have a hard time understanding it’s place.  American Lutheranism is influenced by many religious forces and shows the effects in many ways.

Further, like many organizations, especially religious ones, honest critical self-evaluation is not one our strong points.

So I would like to give consideration to all these things as time goes by.
